Domestic buildings

DFTDC has a designated domestic/structural training area. This area comprises of 2 dry drill buildings (Large Hosp complex & small domestic house). These complexes can be internally obscured with synthetic smoke. No water can be applied within these buildings.
The area also incorporates a wet drill ‘hot house’. This building is designed to withstand internal fires and can be utilised using Class A crib fires (creating heat & smoke) and internal obscuration using synthetic smoke. Water can be applied within this building.
The ‘hot hse’ incorporates the following safety features:

    • Thermocouple temperature monitoring system.
    • Rapid heat & smoke extraction system
    • Emergency internal lighting system
    • Panic buttons (which if reqd activate the heat/smoke extraction system and emergency lighting.)
